昨天我们的外教 Lawrence 都上午十点了还没来上班,本以为他又睡过头儿了,谁知道没过一会儿这哥们儿一瘸一拐地进了门儿,大家赶紧问他怎么了?他无奈地摇了摇头,只吐出了两个词儿"Mr. indifferent……"原来,他说的是他家的邻居"冷漠先生",自打他搬家之后就一直没听他说过一句话,Lawrence 每次主动打招呼对方也不理睬搞得他好无趣。这不,今早 Lawrence 下楼梯时不小心踩空把脚崴了,此时正好那位"Mr. indifferent"从身边儿经过,但人家就跟没看见一样悠悠然地飘过了……

唉,现如今,估计没几个人能叫出自家邻居的名字了,但这种对他人的遭遇视若无睹般地无动于衷也是没谁了~有句话说得特准 "People have become indifferent to the suffering of others. " 这句中的关键词就是"indifferent to"这个短语就是"漠不关心、若无其事"的意思,这个词的构成是“ in+different”, in 前缀表示否定, 后面 different 则是不同,合在一起就是“不在意不同”,也就是我们常说的"无所谓"或"冷漠"了。
